THE STATE OF HYGIENE IN OUR HOSTELS

I had a rough time trying to access washrooms yesterday morning. This is because the kitchen had flooded due to cloaking of drainage system.dirty water had overflown the place to corridor and finally to rooms. It was devastating stepping ,sleeping with ugly face of water in the room.
Getting out at night to release your self was hell.trying to get rid of the water was a nightmare..you needed to unblock the water exit which equally was tedious. Patience and suffering called in till the  cleaners came on board at 9 am who emptied the mess. The state of hygiene in this campus is comprising.Talk of messy washrooms which are just but a threat to health.you can easily get contagious infections.

Dust bins overflow with dirt, inviting fruit flies and rodents.talk of the extensive numbers of cock roaches in rooms. In fact, their population override count of people in moi community. i wish their was a place this creatures were traded...i mean moi could be the richest University in Kenya, probably in the world...it could not need any financial extension from outside rather it could be a donor!
At times you lose appetite as you fetch water from taps. the colour is not appealing both to the stomach and eyes.water normally is colourless according to the  science I ever learnt;unfortunately you get it coloured brown.

We thank God that a midst all this, rare cases of cholera outbreak have been realised.Although ,there are those of us who have been victims of typhoid

  1. Your article is really awesome.I particularly liked that bit which you suggest Moi could be the richest university i the world if it had a market for the cockroaches it has in its hostels.Tietie the current health director should surely not miss this article. Give her your URL address Phenny.

  2. But students are the ones to blame because they damp food stuffs which clog the drainage system worsening thesituation
