Why me means that it should have been somebody else to suffer even when we have no control of it. Anyway, questioning nature we do, not by choice –
we are tempted.
Living in hostels G ,
C ,F and E takes desperation .You don’t yearn residing in darkness condemnation while trying
to escape hard life of the “Diaspora”. I
will book a better hostel next semester; this is always the consolation guys here
have.
Unfortunately, getting used to problems can make one resistant.
Better still if you camouflage and thereafter find contentment.
Lads here prepare supper by 6 pm just in case power gets off
and comes back past midnight. Often are
the times- while in Hostel E- I found
myself at 5 am on bed, in case I missed out cooking early. This is because I tried waiting
for power and sleep overtook me only to be awoke by the cold morning breeze.
You can only study away from your room in case of an evening preps.
Thanks to open lecture halls at night and MTL. Cooking multiple meals at once
is commonplace. Eating cold food is normal and apparently sleeping with empty
stomachs usual.
At least here you learn virtues
of selfless living. As comrades in other hostels enjoy all joy brought by electricity
presence, you just watch over the window. It is n’t that they probably paid much
more fees than you did. It is that you sacrifice to lack as they get. Electricity is
not enough for all at once in Moi!!!
At some point you cease to sacrifice due to the fear of undergoing pain in the process, those guys have to go an extra mile deeper into their pockets
ReplyDeleteYeah..In fact while sacrificing you pay more despite how innocent you may be
