YOU Know what….
It is always good to mind about outcomes. It is necessary to
anticipate for the good that life has for your. Most importantly to also expect and accept the cons that will prick you as you pick the roses. This will probably
make you frown, curse and at worst give it up on picking the blossoming attractive flowers.
In the corridors of Moi University administration building, I happened to be visiting one of the senior offices to make some inquiries for a friend . She wanted to come over and pursue some post graduate studies, when suddenly, I stumped onto this lady crying her heart out.
This made me move towards where
she was sited. I was touched incidentally by the tears and pains I had imagined
she was going through. Questions desiring for some bit of answers streamed my
mind as I approached her. Had somebody in this office mishandled her in a way
suggesting intimidation? Or some cruelty of the sought? Had this person no
sympathy if not empathy? Oh goodness! No!no!
Hey lady! I stretched my arm around her as I lowered my head
towards hers… this words struck me making me stop what I just wanted to utter.
“Could I have known whom I was insulting at that time when
pride overtook me…..oh my…
Why did I even have a glimpse of what repercussions could
befall me? Anyway I will lose my job ..i could I even ask to be forgiven
considering the words I flashed out on that damn day… I thought I was too tired
for someone… “Some less person” to bother me when I wanted to have some rest…
let me now paying to my tooth this
ordeal.”
The truth unfolded at the instance. The officer in charge of
inquiries went visiting one of the hostels on a Friday afternoon. When he
knocked at the door this lady bang the door closing him out before he could
enter. He had to knock several times to ensure whoever was in was aware of
somebody at least in need of some service. The janitor inside yelled at him
telling him she was tired .probably, you may come tomorrow… ‘Am very tired.. I have
been overworked.. I need rest. Little did she know whom she was doing this to..
A door from the inquiries office opened. Guess what? A decent
slim young man came over .he held this lady’s hand... I have learnt to take
life easy.. I will not dismiss you …the lessons, cries and pains you have had serves
you better. You can imagine what transpired later…
That's really touching.
