WOUNDED LIONS ATTACK

Kesses police car burns in Moi university as students riot

Moi university administrators face a rough time trying to calm the situation as students react over the death of a comrade
The vice chancellor issues an internal memo; which calls for a meeting on a Monday morning .students pre-empted the meeting as voices of comrades called for attention and attendance of most students.

A series of events follows as students merge to administration calling to be addressed. Voices of “comrades’ power” echoed the air. The administration faced it tough as students merged towards the building demanding whereabouts of Kairo-a vibrant student leader aspirant.

Professor Ongechi is confronted with jeers and shouts alleging irresponsibility on his part. This IS after the flags were half raised to owner death of Charity Maina the centre of chaos.”I am depressed by the untimely and premature death of our students”. The vice chancellor managed to say these words before being shut, a halt that ended the speech.

Students then took off towards stage demonstrating .not long time elapsed before they rioted stage business. Looting amid destruction of property followed. These aroused fury among the villagers who have sleeping lions. These people have always been wounded whenever students strike, demonstrated or rioted. Property loss has been commonplace.

Previously, students had forced the police car to head to student centre after the news of the demise struck the air. The vehicle had picked the body and students had forced it demanding a school bus. This was to show sign of solidarity through escorting the student to mortuary.

Failure of their demand had bore bitter fruits: The police car was turned down; flames saw themselves high in the air. Smoke of burned vegetation and vehicle colonised the environments. Meanwhile, police had fired bullets .Students were pulling down structures at the gate. These ignited more fire as students swore to continue rioting at their realisation of live bullets directed to the tear gas which made them cry involuntary.

  1. the administration had nothing to say as the students were not in a position to listen, my worry is, when will this security an accommodation issue be sorted? Years goes by and there is no sign of improvement from the accommodation side
